Mrs. Honerman's Teaching Philosophy
Meet Mrs. H      Home

During my studies at NSU, teacher candidates were asked to establish a teaching philosophy - an idea as to their beliefs in education. I think that as an educator, it is important that parents and students understand what your beliefs are in order to understand how the classroom is run.

I believe that the relationship between teacher and student is reciprocal; students have duties to their teachers and teachers have duties to their students. With that said, I believe that students have the duties of showing respect, listening to varying view points, being prepared for class, and being willing to work hard. I also believe that as an educator, I have the duties of showing respect, creating a safe learning environment, providing students with the knowledge necessary for them to be successful, giving feedback in an appropriate amount of time and helping students maintain their motivation and enthusiasm with course work.
