Hello! My name is Sarah Honerman and I am
honored to be employed by Groton Area High School. This is my second
year teaching at GHS and I feel truly blessed to have such a supportive
school family. I currently teach Freshmen and Sophomore English and
direct the all school play.
I have lived in South Dakota for my entire life, though I have lived in
various cities. I grew up with my family in Sioux Falls and graduated
from Washington High School in 2009. My family consists of my father
Greg, my mother Marta, my brother Philip, and my sister Meredith. I am
the oldest of my siblings. My parents still live in the house where I
grew up. My father is a local radio talk show host and my mother teaches
eighth grade social studies. My brother is a recent graduate from
Lincoln High School and my sister will begin attending Washington High
School this fall.
I graduated from Northern State University in May of 2013 where I
majored with a BSED in English Education and minored in theater. I spent
my four years at NSU heavily involved in the theater department.
Throughout my education at Northern, I served as an officer for the
drama club - two of those years were as NSU Masquer's President.
In May of 2011, I married my best friend, Seth Honerman. We are happily
married and live in Aberdeen. We have a Yorkie Poo named Ace. Seth is
also from Sioux Falls - in fact, we went to the same high school! Seth
has a BSED in Speech Education and a BA in Musical Theatre from NSU. He
currently works for NSU's Residence Life as the Hall Director in
McArthur Welsh Hall. |
